Assignment Description
Scheduling Usability Tests
The usability test sessions must be scheduled three weeks before the actual testing because many individuals must be coordinated and space for the testing must be arranged. Graduate students must coordinate with CS team members. Finally, I must seek participants for the testing.
Each UX consultant/graduate student will conduct approximately 6 test sessions for the thirteenth week of the semester. Each session is an hour and at least three development team members should assist the graduate student. Each development team member should attend at least 5 usability test sessions. I encourage all team member to attend as many test sessions as possible. I recommend not scheduling any testing before 10 am because students like to sleep in late.
Coordinate the test schedule early with your UX Consultants/graduate students because I will use the order that I receive schedules to resolve any scheduling conflicts between teams. The UX consultants/graduate students are responsible for leading the scheduling, but developers should be responsive to the UX consulants needs.
Usability Test Table
Your team with your UX consultants should make a table delineating the team members that will assist during each test sessions of your application. The table should include:
- Test Date and Time
- Test Location or Zoom Link
- Development Team Members Assisting
The table should be posted on your website.
Submit on Canvas and Due Date
After you have posted the test table schedule on your team website, submit on Canvas the URL the test schedule table. The assignment is due at the end of the week after Spring Break.
Grading Rubric
